What is Iodine?
Iodine is a non-metallic element which is atomic number 53 on the periodic table, and its symbol is I. The solution's appearance is a deep purple colour, and its name comes from iodes, the Greek word for violet. It was discovered in 1811 by a man named Bernard Courtois. The body needs Iodine, and can be found in some foods.
